Ben Wrigley has practiced law in Michigan since 1970. His specialties include real estate, construction law, business/corporate law (including medical marijuana business law), wealth advisory, family law, and litigation. He started his practice with a medium-sized firm. Later Ben led the Real Estate Practice Group at Varnum, Riddering, Schmidt & Howlett when the law firm was formed in 1983.
As a real estate and business attorney, Ben has been involved with clients in all aspects of real estate and business mergers and planning activities throughout the country and internationally. He founded the predecessor firm to Wrigley, Hoffman & Hendricks, P.C. in 1994.
Ben began following Michigan’s medical marijuana legalization activities in 2013. With his partner Robert A. Hendricks, they developed a specialized law practice for medical marijuana business law in the state of Michigan, under the CannaLex division of Wrigley, Hoffman & Hendricks, P.C. Ben’s focus in this field is on the business, real estate, and tax aspects of marijuana and hemp operations. He is a member of the Marijuana Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and served as Chair of the Section’s Property Committee (2016-2018).
Throughout his career, Ben has devoted time and talent to many diverse nonprofit organizations and trade associations, including the Home Builders Association (local, state and national), Spectrum Health Patient and Family Advisory Council, and the Commercial Alliance of Realtors. Ben is a frequent speaker on real estate, business, and medical marijuana topics to various trade and business groups.
